Castle Hill is a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales. First settled by Europeans in 1801, with the name first being coined in 1802. Castle Hill post office opened in 1869, by which point Castle Hill had grown from orchards and gardens supplying central Sydney into a thriving sprawl of houses and shops. In the modern day, Castle Hill is a mixture of low-to-medium density housing, punctuated by beautiful greenery. Castle Hill is furnished with a number of gardens, a library and a number of schools. Castle Hill’s commercial centre is found to the north of the suburb, and contains both smaller shops and vast shopping centres, the largest of which is the Castle Towers shopping centre.
Castle Hill’s relatively low-density housing and reasonable distance from the bustle of central Sydney make it a laid-back, family-friendly, picturesque suburb. Despite this relaxed suburban lifestyle, Castle Hill is far from remote, having a thriving commercial district and being just under 10km from Parramatta. Castle Hill is also serviced by the Sydney metro and bus services which connect it to the convenience and employment opportunities presented by central Sydney. In conclusion, Castle hill is a beautiful, tranquil but well equipped and well connected place to live.
